This Week’s Topic: Ordering Coffee en Español ☕

This week, we’re focusing on the essential phrases and vocabulary you need to confidently order coffee in Spanish. Whether you’re grabbing a quick espresso or sitting down for a leisurely café con leche, these phrases will make your experience smoother and more enjoyable.

Vocabulary List:

  • Café solo - Espresso

  • Café con leche - Coffee with milk

  • Café cortado - Espresso with a splash of milk

  • Café americano - Black coffee

  • Café con una cucharada de azúcar - Coffee with one spoonful of sugar

  • Leche completa/almendras/avena - Whole/almond/oat milk

Practice Dialogue:

Here’s a simple dialogue to help you practice ordering a coffee in Spanish:

  • Customer: “Buenos días. Quisiera un café con leche, por favor.”

  • Barista: “Claro. ¿Lo quiere con leche de almendras, completa o de avena?”

  • Customer: “Con leche de almendra, gracas”

  • Barista: “Perfecto. ¿Algo más?”

  • Customer: “No, eso es todo. Gracias.”

  • Barista: “De nada. Aquí tiene su café. ¡Que lo disfrute!”
